*Doeun Kim is a postdoctoral researcher at the Niehaus Center, Princeton University. She received her Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Beginning in August 2026, she will join the Taipei School of Economics and Political Science at National Tsing Hua University in Taiwan as an Assistant Professor.

Her research interests lie in international political economy. Specifically, she examines (1) how domestic politics and political institutions shape foreign economic policy and (2) how industrial policies aimed at promoting specific technologies and industries influence political behavior. Her work has been published in International Interactions.

She was a member of the Practical Causal Inference Lab and obtained an M.S. degree in Statistics from UCLA. She received her M.A. in International Relations and her B.A. in International Relations and International Cooperation and Development Studies from Seoul National University.
